My parents want to have a simple celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, which is going to be in six months. Since they have already renewed their vows on their 25th wedding anniversary, that is not going to be an option for them this year. And neither is a big party. With their children and grandchildren is how they want to celebrate it. A nice quiet dinner at a reputable restaurant is how they want to celebrate it.
Being the eldest among the singblings, I took it upon myself to organise my parents wedding anniversary dinner. All of us are working far from our hometown and it is so difficult for us to have a meeting physically. Our hectic schedule would prevent that. Utilizing Skype and using emails helped us to get in contact with each other and disseminate our ideas. During our discussions, we agreed that all our children will present a song number or a dance show for a short program. Our parents would love that as they are extremely proud of their granchildren's talents.
Then one sister suggested that we should give our parents a special gift. But we don't know what to give them. Then a sister said that since we are going to celebrate a wedding anniversary, we should give them a gift befitting that meaningful event. One brother said gifting them with palladium wedding rings. We asked him to explain that. He said that palladium is a rare metal just like platinum. It is silvery-white in color and is less expensive than platinum although palladium is part of the platinum group of metals. If we can decide to choose that as our anniversary present, we can avail of special offers.|One suggestion that came up was to give our parents a precious gift. Our brother presented us with five designs to choose from. We picked the design with five diamonds. The 0.25 carat center diamond is larger than the four diamonds on its shoulder. The five diamonds depicted the 50 years that our parents have been together in good and in bad times. In substitution for the love our parents have shown us, we give them these gifts to let them how much we care for them.
They were very surprised by the presentations of their grandchildren. But they were very glad to see the grandchildren and happier to experience their song numbers and dance presentations. We saw that our parents were very delighted with everything. They were clapping their hands all the time and the smile on their lips reached their eyes. Then came the surprise gifts. Everybody was muted as we told our parents how much we love them. Because of their hardships, we have made better lives for our own families. And we presented them with the gifts. Our parents were speechless. They did not expect anything like these. They were fortunate to have good and loving children.
